Traveller’s joy (Clematis vitalba) is a fast-growing deciduous vine native to Europe. All parts of the plant are poisonous; the toxic principle is dissipated by heat or drying, so cooked young shoots are the only edible part. It is a vigorous climber and is considered invasive in some regions.1
