The wild service tree (Sorbus torminalis) is a deciduous tree native to Europe, including the Mediterranean region, grown for its brown fruit, which is best eaten bletted or after a frost, and its fine-grained wood. It grows 15-25 m tall in forests,¹ and 8-12 m tall and 4-8 m wide in cultivation.²
