Tuberous Jerusalem sage (Phlomis tuberosa) is a cold-hardy perennial herb with starchy edible tubers, native from Eastern Europe through the Caucasus and Siberia to Mongolia and northern China.1 Its dry, rocky steppe habitat and tolerance of temperatures down to -25°C make it a fit for cold semi-arid climates.1
