Ground ivy (Glechoma hederacea) is a low, mat-forming evergreen perennial herb native to Europe and temperate Asia, found on damp waste ground, hedgerows and woodland margins.1 It should be used with some caution medicinally — reports note possible toxicity to horses, and advise against its internal use during pregnancy or in cases of epilepsy or kidney disease.1
