Hoary mustard (Hirschfeldia incana) is an annual herb native to the Mediterranean region and naturalized widely elsewhere as a weed of disturbed and cultivated ground.1 Its young leaves are eaten raw and its seeds, raw, cooked, or ground into a powder, are used as food; in parts of Greece the young plant is eaten dressed with oil and lemon juice.1 It grows up to 1 m tall.1
