Basil thyme (Clinopodium acinos) is an annual-to-short-lived-perennial herb native to almost all of Europe, from Scandinavia south to Spain and east to Turkey, found on dry sunny banks and chalky, gravelly or sandy fields, including cold semi-arid steppe-over-limestone habitat.
