Headed savory (Coridothymus capitatus, synonym Thymbra capitata) is an evergreen shrub of Mediterranean Europe, growing on dry, usually calcareous soils. Its oregano-scented leaves and essential oil (“Spanish oregano oil”) are used fresh or dried as a culinary flavoring, and the oil is a strong antiseptic and disinfectant.1
