California figwort (Scrophularia californica) is an evergreen perennial of California coastal woodlands and chaparral, growing from Los Angeles to British Columbia. Its iridoid glycosides make the plant unpalatable, so it is not eaten. It grows 1-1.5 m tall and 0.5-1 m wide.1
