Cassie (Vachellia farnesiana), also known as sweet acacia, is a thorny, nitrogen-fixing deciduous shrub thought to be native to tropical America and now naturalized across warm regions worldwide.1 Its fragrant yellow flowers are distilled into the perfume ingredient also called cassie, and its young leaflets, flowers, and green pods are edible when cooked.1 It grows up to 9 m tall.1
