Stranglewort (Cynanchum acutum) is a perennial climbing vine of seacoasts, sandy and saline steppe slopes, and river banks from southern Europe to West Asia. It has no known edible or medicinal use; its leaves and stems contain a latex rich in rubber. Some reports describe toxins in its genus.
