Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon) is a mat-forming perennial grass of disturbed, sandy ground across warm-temperate to tropical regions, widely used for turf, pasture, and erosion control. Its rhizomes can be roasted for a coffee-like infusion, though cleaning them is labour-intensive. Its pollen can cause hay fever, and under some conditions the plant can produce hydrocyanic acid, a hazard for grazing livestock.
