Sherardia arvensis - Field madder

Field madder (Sherardia arvensis) is an annual herb of most of Europe to the Mediterranean. It does well in hot, dry, sunny positions where it self-sows, and can become a lawn weed. A red or rose dye is obtained from the plant.¹
